Green Immunity Soup

This soup is nourishing and detoxifying, and when eaten regularly can help replenish nutrient deficiencies, boost immunity and restore vitality. Its delicious and you can use different greens to vary the nutrients and the taste!

1 Tablespoon Ghee or Olive Oil

2 Cups Blessed water or Tea (Astragalus, Pau d’Arco, Echinacea, Nettle, Chamomile)

1 teaspoon Masala

1 teaspoon Pink Salt

1/4 teaspoon Ground Turmeric

1/8 teaspoon Fenugreek Seeds

1 Cup Crumbled Fresh Soft Cheese (dairy or non-dairy) ~or~ you could use 1/2 cup soaked Cashews or 1/2 cup cooked lentils instead

1 Pound Leafy Greens such as Chard, Beet Greens, Collards, Spinach, Arugula, Kale &/or Sprouts.

1/2 Cup Fresh Parsley or Cilantro

Garnish with Fresh Lime Juice

In a medium saucepan add oil and spices, simmer and add 2 cups blessed water or tea and cheese. Bring to a simmer over medium low heat and cook for 10-15 minutes. While cheese is cooking, prepare your greens: wash, stem and tear them so they blend well ~ this should yield about 8 packed cups or so. Gradually add the greens and parsley, turning them over until they wilt but still remain their vibrant color (about 3-5 minutes). Turn off heat and leave soup uncovered to cool down a bit before transferring to blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. Reheat to desired warmth.

Garnish with lime and serve hot.

Raw Pad Thai

This is one of my favorites because anyone who knows me knows that I love almond butter and I also like my veggies saucy.
This is so easy to make and crazy good! It will surely be a hit with the family or at a potluck or during your scrumptious 3 Day Cleanse!

For the Sauce:

  • 3/4 cup Almond Butter
  • Juice of one lime or grapefruit (depending on how much citrus you like)
  • 1/2 cup coconut water or if you like it really creamy use 1/2 cup Fresh Coconut Milk (do not use coconut milk from a can it does not taste good in this recipe!) Add more liquid as needed to get desired consistency.
  • 3 TBS Tamari Sauce or Coconut Aminos
  • 3 dates
  • 1 inch fresh ginger
  • Dash or two of cayenne

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend……
***If your sauce is too thick add more coconut water. If your sauce needs more salt add more tamari or coconut aminos. If you like it spicier add some fresh jalapeno (start with 1/4 teaspoon and add a little at a time so that you do not overdue it!) If you like it sweeter add more honey or dates….. delish!

Noodles:
Create noodles with spiralizer or by cutting them julienne. Carrots, zucchini, dikon radish, sprouts, and red pepper are all delicious in this dish. Place noodles on a bed of baby greens or torn up kale, cover in sauce and serve! For garnish you can use cherry or grape tomatoes, carrot slices, cilantro or even mint. Did I mention this dish is delicious?

5 Day Juice Cleanse

This is an extension of the 3-Day Juice Cleanse that was posted earlier this week. Cleansing is a great way to kickstart your way to better health! Give your body a break from caffeine, sugar, wheat, dairy, and alcohol so that you may establish new, healthier habits, renew your energy and detox your body with this invigorating 5-Day Cleanse!

With all of this extra energy many people report wanting to exercise, which leads to clearer thinking, healthier emotional states & weight control (you may even sleep better too). 5 Day Energy Boost Juice Cleanse!

Day 1

  • Drink 48 ounces of fresh juice throughout the day.
  • Drink water. Drink half your body weight in ounces of water. (150 pound person would drink 75 ounces of water).
  • Fiber. Drink apple juice and 1 teaspoon fiber cleansing formula mixed with either 8 ounce of water and/or apple juice. Drink this twice a day.
  • Green Drink. Mix 1 tablespoon of a green powder like Pure Synergy, Vitamineral Green or Premier Research Labs Greens Mix with 8 ounces of water or apple juice. Drink this twice a day.
  • Drink as much herbal tea as you want throughout the day. Ginger tea is amazing because it contains over 477 constituents, it inhibits inflammation, it’s helps fight tumor growth, and it stimulates HCL – Hydrochloric Acid that is used by the stomach to break down fiber and plant roughage. An ancient Indian Proverb once said, “Every good quality is contained in ginger.”
  • Drink lemon water. Although lemons are acidic, they have an alkalizing effect on the body because the contain alkalizing minerals. Lemons are a wonderful germicide and are used to reduce fevers. They are high in vitamin C, B1, and G, as well as potassium. Lemons are ideal for removing toxins from the body, especially the liver.
  • If you’re hungry, drink veggie broth. Broth actually helps improve enzyme and cellular metabolism and general cleansing and detoxification.

  • Orange-Cherry-Ginger (16 ounces)
  • Celery-Pineapple-Kale-Swiss Chard-Ginger (32 ounces)
  • Ginger Tea

Day 2

During your cleansing process:

  • Take time to go for a 20 minute walk everyday.
  • Stretch and practice yoga.

Please note: During a juice cleanse I generally don’t use tomatoes. Tomatoes are a great detoxifier but  they also upset calcium metabolism and should be avoided in cases of arthritis. Large amounts of tomatoes are weakening for everyone. So I like to enjoy them after a fast as they are easy to digest.

On this five day journey, try to free yourself of the past hurts and worries that continue to live with you. Let them float away. Journal or write letters (you don’t have to send them) to give yourself a regular outlet for your emotions, regrets, and worries. Don’t push them aside, harness them and move on as a smarter and lighter person.

Raw Pasta with Tapenade

Raw Pasta with Tapenade

Rawsta with Tapenade & Rawmesan is the best! Its so delicious most people don’t even realize they are eating raw and nourishing their bodies with optimum nutrition!

To make Rawsta:
Spiralize or julienne 3 or 4 medium zucchini.
If you would like you could make it the consistency of cooked pasta by adding a touch of olive oil and salt.

Rawsta

Marinara:
  • 1/2 cup strawberries
  • 2 cups tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 2 Tbsp. garlic
  • 1 tsp. jalapeno pepper
  • 1/3 cup basil
  • 1/3 cup red bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup oregano, fresh chopped
  • 1/4 cup nama shoyu
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 green olives
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 1/4 cup shallots
  • 2-4 dates, soaked
Place in food processor, blend until you reach desired consistency.
Tapenade: Chop up Olives, Red peppers & Mushrooms. Marinate in tamari & olive brine… serve on Rawsta or crackers…. its such a good savory topping!
Rawmesan: Nutritional yeast, ground up sunflower seeds, and herbs and salt to taste.
Garnish Rawsata with oregano or parsley and serve!
